History

In 1974 Cal & Debi Roberts left Santa Cruz, CA. with a dream to build a future.

They had an idea that a general contractor is not a construction business, but rather a business to provide professional services that resulted in a project being constructed. Along the way, they would build relationships with each client and company; one of ethics and ideals, where everyone could contribute and be a part of the success.

From this idea, RMC Constructors was incorporated in Fresno, CA on June 29, 1983.

As we assembled a team of professionals whose knowledge, talent and experience match the philosophies and early strategies of RMC, we found together we could provide services which construct projects of higher quality, in a shorter time frame, and less expensive than our competitors. This strategy worked well then and we continue to incorporate it now; professionalism and substance that continues to motivate and excite our ever-changing market.

  • Cal Roberts

    PRESIDENT, CEO & CO-FOUNDER

    Since co-founding RMC Constructors in 1983, Mr. Roberts has guided the company through consistent and planned growth. Our success is based on RMC’s commitment to identifying client specific project needs and satisfying those needs in a timely manner. Cal's leadership in developing a team approach to all of RMC’s projects has aligned the company with the most committed, knowledgeable, and experienced managers and subcontractors in the industry.


  • M. Peg Alvarez

    SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

    As the most Senior Vice President, Ms. Alvarez manages the daily operations of RMC business functions, overseeing Preconstruction, Estimating, Accounting, Administration and Field Operations. She provides direction, coordination and daily operational control to each department supervisor. Ms. Alvarez joined RMC Constructors in February 1991, quickly establishing a presence that provides a singular point interface to assure complete compliance with the contract documents and insuring the client’s intent is met.


  • Heather Roberts-Short

    VICE PRESIDENT/CORPORATE AFFAIRS

    Since joining RMC in 1989, Ms. Roberts-Short has had a myriad of roles. As Vice President for Corporate Affairs, she is responsible for communications, strategic planning, public affairs management, and sustainability standards. Ms. Roberts-Short works closely with the CEO to maintain relationships with key leaders. Additionally, Heather serves on the company’s ethics, and philanthropy committees as well as RMC Constructors Board of Directors.

    DIRECTOR OF CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION

    As Director of Administration, Ms. Titus leads RMC’s contract administration department, overseeing critical functions such as contract management, RFIs, submittals, and change orders. These processes are the driving force behind the success of RMC’s projects, and Amanda’s leadership ensures they are managed with precision. By expertly coordinating these tasks across departments, Amanda ensures that all contract-related documents are accurate, timely, and aligned with project goals. Her work enables smooth communication and documentation flow, essential in keeping projects on schedule and within scope.

  • Alice Lamas

    CONTROLLER

    With a deep commitment to financial precision, Ms. Lamas brings extensive experience to her role as Controller at RMC. She is responsible for managing the company’s accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing essential oversight. Alice plays a key role in maintaining the company’s financial integrity by overseeing budgets, managing cash flow, and coordinating audits. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures that all accounting operations are executed seamlessly and in full compliance with industry standards, making her an integral part of RMC’s financial health.

    DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

    With extensive experience in human resources management, Mrs. McKenery plays a critical role in overseeing RMC’s workforce operations. As Director of Human Resources, she ensures the smooth execution of all HR functions, from onboarding to benefits administration and employee support. Her leadership helps maintain a streamlined and efficient approach to employee relations. Beyond her HR duties, Mrs. McKenery supports the company’s operational needs by managing DMV renewals, Corporate Purchase Orders, and coordinating company events, contributing to RMC’s overall organizational efficiency and workplace cohesion.
